What is SMS Fabric?

Spunbond Meltblown Spunbond (SMS) is a type of non-woven polypropylene fabric composed of three layers: (1) a top layer of spunbond polypropylene, (2) a middle layer of meltblown polypropylene, and (3) a bottom layer of spunbond polypropylene. As a result of the combination of these materials, SMS fabrics offer a wide range of benefits. The spunbond polypropylene provides strength and durability, and the meltblown polypropylene provides wicking and fluid barrier qualities. The result is a fabric that provides fluid resistance but is durable and comfortable to wear.
